Few players in baseball history hated to lose more than Wes Ferrell. In 1931, the right-hander won 13 straight games, tossed a no-hitter and helped himself at the plate, hitting 9 home runs, driving in 38 and hitting .280. After his pitching days, Ferrell played in the minors and was a two-time batting champion as an outfielder.
