No one would argue that the heart and soul of the 1955 Brooklyn Dodger’s championship starting squad were players such as Roy Campanella, Carl Furillo, Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider, Pee Wee Reese, and Gil Hodges. These players were the key cogs in leading Brooklyn to their first World Series title when they bested the perennial American League pennant winning New York Yankees in seven games. In 1957, Topps decided to place a number of those stars on subject #400, including Furillo, Hodges, Campanella and Snider on a single card. Ultra popular with collectors, presented here is that desirable specimen in a scintillating PSA 8 holder with only 9 specimens residing at a higher grade! This classic card portrays each Dodger slugger on a bended right knee, each leaning on a bat with barrel on the ground. A brilliant array of Dodger blue colored hues emanate from each player, with the entire image only slightly favoring the lower left edges and depicting fine clarity and contrast. Both sides of the cards reveal no major surface flaws, and the reverse side blue typography is completely intact. Certainly this cardboard artifact is one of the more desirable subjects from the prestigious 1957 Topps issue, and by placing the final bid, you will take one strong step in augmenting your post WWII collection!
