The #1 card in the 1957 Topps issue is none other than the great Ted Williams the last player to hit .400 in the Major Leagues. Williams may not be the #1 player in baseball history, but he is easily in the top 5. This copy of the "Splendid Splinter" is a clean near mint to mint card with a clear, flawless photo and white borders. A Topps 50s issue with Ted Williams in the Number 1 slot and in high grade is probably very much under valued in our hobby.
