One of baseball’s greatest minds, Herzog excelled as a manager and guided the Cardinals to three World Series during the 1980’s, including the 1982 World Championship. Herzog’s trademark “Whitey Ball” was a throwback style based on speed, pitching, and defense. Herzog finally was elected to Cooperstown in 2010.
