Otto Graham’s favorite target, Lavelli was a high school standout who missed most of his college football career as a result of his military service during WWII. With only three college games on his resume, Lavelli entered pro football in 1946, beat out four veteran receivers and led the AAFL in receptions in his first season. Nicknamed “Gluefingers,” Lavelli rarely dropped any pass he could touch and retired with just under 400 career receptions – an astronomical total for the era. A game changer, who ushered in a new era for receivers, Lavelli was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1975,
