The Dodgers were getting old. Jackie Robinson had retired. And Carl Furillo was the only Dodger who hit over .300 for the season. Duke Snider blasted 40 homers, but his batting average dipped below .275. A 20-year old Don Drysdale showed the promise of the future, winning 17 games with a 2.69 ERA. But, sadly, after 1957, there would never again be a Brooklyn Dodger.
