In 1958, Aaron and Mathews, Milwaukee’s two best hitters accounted for 61 home runs and 172 RBI’s. Even by inflated modern standards, those numbers stand out in the crowd. What may have been most appealing about this pair of sluggers is how they approached the game. They came to the park, did their jobs, kept their heads down, didn’t brag and won. That’s what baseball is all about!
