Trout would retire after the ’52 season with 170 career wins. Looking back, his career year was 1944--the righty won 27, had an AL best 2.12 ERA, tossed seven shutouts, hit .271 and slammed 5 home runs. Now that’s quite a season. But as they say, Dizzy Trout was quite a pitcher.
