The 1953 Rookie of the Year, Gilliam led the NL in triples and runs scored his freshman season. The Dodger great would score at least 100 runs in each of his first four years in the league and finish second in the NL in stolen bases three times, trailing Willie Mays each season. This card delivers high marks for color and clarity. The whites are bold, the corners are sharp and the borders are exceedingly clean. A re-grade might bring you another half-point to a point. The card’s really that good!
