The 1910 E98 “Anonymous Candy cards including 30 subjects are considered one of the most condition sensitive card issues in existence which is why this SGC 86/7.5 Frank Chance E98 offering absolutely defies logic. Not only is this miraculous specimen the one and only Frank Chance E98 card existing at this stratospheric tier, but it represents the highest graded copy on BOTH the SGC and PSA “pop” charts. Any near mint+ E98 card is near impossible to surface, justified by the combined 1,432 SC and PSA encapsulated copies for all 30 subjects only including a meager 5 copies (0.3%) at this plateau and 9 (0.6%) graded higher! Hall of Famer Frank Chance owns the unique distinction of being the last Cubs manager to claim a World Series title, winning championships in both the 1907 and 1908 seasons. Yet, for all of his “on the field” accomplishments both as a standout 1st baseman and manager, he will best be remembered as the final link in the iconic “Tinker to Evers to Chance” double play combination. His uniform gray hues and virtually flawless aqua blue background combine to provide us with one of the finest illustrations a vintage card could possibly offer. The image is nearly “dead-on” centered between four absolutely dazzling white borders and the corners are blistering sharp. Ultra-clean surfaces and a blemish free checklist back are the final exclamation points to one of the finest E98 specimens in existence and, irrefutably, the supreme E98 Frank Chance gem on the planet!
