The ultra-popular E93 Standard Caramel Candy cards were issued in 1910 with the set’s most coveted and valuable subject none other than Tyrus Raymond Cobb, and with that in mind, presented here is Cobb’s E93 collectible in a superb PSA 4 holder. Mid-grade Cobb candy cards are synonymous with his incomparable place in baseball history with both meriting Cooperstown status. The “Georgia Peach” easily accomplished that when in 1936 when he was included as one of the Hall of Fame’s five charter members along with Ruth, Wagner, Mathewson and Johnson. Most baseball historians agree that his incredible record of owning the highest lifetime batting average of .367 may never be surpassed with Cobb leading the AL in batting a remarkable 12 seasons. No wonder the “Georgia Peach” is widely regarded as one of the best “5 tool” players in baseball history, with all of the above justifying why virtually every elite enthusiast actively seek his high-end rarities. The offered example portrays Cobb in a “glove raised” fielding image also included on his popular E94 and E98 candy cards. The iconic pose, left arm outstretched as he snares another fly ball, is near perfect, depicting an awe-inspiring array of grey colored hues with Cobb wearing his classic “turn of the century” vintage style sweater. The deep orange background depicts a super eye pleasing richness, and the image while vertically well centered, favors the right edge. The reverse side checklist is completely intact with the assigned grade predominately attributed to a mild stain situated along the lower obverse side border, and four moderately worn corners. Regardless, any early 20th century mid-grade Ty Cobb candy card projecting strong visual appeal merits the utmost attention from a myriad of advanced enthusiasts!
