Jennings spent 30 years in baseball as a player, manager and coach. The Hall of Famer was also a practicing attorney, who ran a successful firm in the off-season. A tough out who always challenged pitchers, Jennings endured a then-record 49 bean balls in 1896. Following his managing days in Detroit, old friend John McGraw hired Jennings as his “right-hand man” and coach. Together, the two would help the Giants win four consecutive pennants from 1921-1924.
