If you are assembling either a Hall of Fame vintage collection, an array of Honus Wagner type cards or building an E90-1 set, this esteemed American Caramel offering in an SGC 30/2 holder suffices all three want lists. Collectors are more the familiar with this iconic batting pose of the immortal “Flying Dutchman” with many “E” and “T” cards carrying its likeness. Unfortunately for collectors, one of the tougher cards to come across portraying the Wagner batting illustration just happens to be his E90-1 subject. While rounded corners and an upper right diagonal corner crease account for the technical assessment, his stunning batting pose projects a fine array of eye pleasing soft colored hues, set against a robust crimson like red background. No obtrusive surface blemishes are apparent, and the image is relatively well centered between four somewhat soiled borders. While the overall strong eye appeal presents itself in a “VG” manner, more critical is the coupled type/player combination for baseball’s greatest all-time shortstop and Hall of Fame 1936 charter member!
