T206 mania continues to captivate the baseball card hobby, with serious collectors placing a huge emphasis on seizing some of the scarcest cigarette ad backs. One of the top 10 rarest advertisements is the elusive “Red Hindu” back, and with that in mind presented here is a splendid PSA 2 T206 John Hummel “Red Hindu” that resides as one of only four specimens listed within the PSA “pop” chart Hindu category. Furthermore, that count does not distinguish the more common “Brown” Hindu vs. the scarcer “Red” Hindu subjects. John Hummel spent 12 seasons in the majors, leading the league in fielding percentage 2 seasons at his primary 2nd base position. Likewise, his “Red Hindu” offering suffices as a leading candidate for cardboard immortality due to its super obscure back advertisement. While his eye pleasing vintage style “bat over should is the vital attribute. While some of the surface reflects a “washed out” appearance, the bold red “HINDU” text is completely intact, and most would agree this critical criteria serves as the compelling facet of this seldom surfacing T206 relic!
