Masterpieces and Uncommon Commons XXXVIII

It’s difficult to understand the reason why someone would ever intentionally shave the bottom edge of this T206 Polar Bear backed Ty Cobb specimen, which would still rate in the FAIR to VG range even if it had true MINT edges. Some obvious soiling as well as a minor stock imperfection over Cobb’s mouth would prevent a significantly higher assessment, making for one heck of a bargain for collectors concerned with authenticity over grade point averages. Accepting the aforementioned imperfections, the prominent image showcases tremendously accurate, pixel-perfect registration of Cobb’s figure against a cascade of vibrant background summer shades.
