Currently, no type card issue is hotter than assembling rare T206 advertisement backs, and this seldom surfacing T206 George Mullin “Throwing” El Principe De Gales PSA 4 offering fits right into that T206 collecting theme. One of the tougher T206 cigarette ad backs to obtain, “El Principe De Gales” tobacco cards are highly desirable, and this “1 of 1” gem currently resides as the highest graded “El Principe De Gales” example of the meager 2 copies included in PSA’s “El Principe De Gales” category! While Mullin is not a Hall of Famer, he still managed to win over 200 games including a career best 29 wins in 1909 in which he led his Tigers to a World Series appearance against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Only a handful of Mullins cards could be more coveted than this obscure T206 keepsake that presents a bright throwing image of the star right-handed twirler in one of the few landscape/horizontal T206 poses included in the 524 subjects. Sparkling blue, green and gray hues highlight this timeless image that somewhat favors the upper edge. No garling surface blemishes are evident, with the technical assessment solely due to the standard corner wear typically associated with a century old card. The significant “El Principe De Gales” Cigarette ad still exhibits its original bold red typography with some moderate soiling apparent near the right edge. Overall, this is a super aesthetically pleasing card that via its low “pop” chart status would make a splendid addition to any superior T206 advertisement back compilation!
