With T206 advertising back mania still running ramped, we are proud to present one of the tougher front/back combinations, a splendid SGC 50/4 “Cycle 460” back Joe Tinker “Bat on Shoulder” specimen. Currently, this is one of only two Tinker “Bat on Shoulder” Cycle 460’s listed on SGC’s illustrious census report with NONE graded higher. Furthermore, PSA only lists a SINGLE Cycle 460 copy with that sole example encapsulated in a “Good-2” holder! While this extremely low population data justifies this offering’s scarcity, the fact that the “pop” charts does not distinguish between Cycle 350 or 460 Subjects further elevates the significant obscurity of this seldom surfacing tobacco card. Everyone is well aware of Hall of Famer Joe Tinker’s legendary status as the first link in the iconic “Tinker to Evers to Chance “ Chicago Cub’s double play combination that assisted Chicago in claiming their last two championships in 1907 and 1908. Likewise, this scant T206 representation of the stellar shortstop exhibits championship aesthetics with the vividly registered central image, fine centering and bold black Cycle 460 advertisement back the highlights of this highest graded specimen. If you are a sophisticated T206 enthusiast captivated by assembling some of the set’s toughest type back/player combinations, this is the card for you!
