The “Merkle Boner” at the end of the 1908 season that led to the Cub’s winning the National League Pennant will forever be one of baseball’s “bonehead” and best remembered plays. The player responsible for the miscue was New York Giants 1st baseman Fred Merkle, who is presented here on this outstanding T205 Gold Border card that has been graded a PSA 6.
