The Dodgers would bring the World Series title to the West Coast for the first time in 1959. Gil Hodges and Duke Snider paced the Dodgers along with help from Wally Moon, who hit over .300 and lofted “Moon Shots” down the line for short home runs as the Dodgers anxiously awaited new Dodger Stadium. Don Drysdale led the moundsmen with 17 wins, 2 saves and 242 strikeouts in just over 270 innings pitched.
