Few cards exhibit the joy of baseball better than the amazing 1955 Willie Mays Topps example shown here
Mays was at the absolute top of his game entering 1955, after dominating NL pitching in 1954 en route to an MVP performance and World Championship with the Giants.
This outstanding example of Mays card grades at the absolute pinnacle of perfection. Color saturation and clarity are vivid and explosive. Borders glisten with arctic whites that perfectly frame the young “Say Hey Kid’s” image.
Topps first true horizontal series remains an overwhelming favorite among collectors of all ranges; however, to find an immaculate MINT 9 of this scarce high number calls for high end collectors and those set collectors looking to make their marks in the set registry world.
Rarely do we see 50’s era cards that make us stop dead in our tracks, but this 1955 Willie Mays is simply unmatched. So place your bids early and plan on staying up late for this important issue. You won’t be disappointed.
POP REPORT: Exceeded by 3 examples graded higher including both SGC and PSA.
