While Cleveland Indians southpaw Don Mossi will never be considered for Hall of Fame status, his remarkable 1958 Topps PSA Mint 9 offering easily merits Cooperstown cardboard status. Consider that this “Yellow Team Letters” version shares the spotlight with only a single PSA specimen as the highest graded example, and is the finest of its kind! A consistent performer either out of the bullpen or as a starter, Mossi retired 20 games over .500 and was dominant in his three World Series appearances during the 1954 October Classic. Likewise, this magnificent jewel exhibits championship cardboard caliber via the crystal clear Mossi portrait image that is well projected via the radiant yellow background. Affixed between four dazzling white borders, the illustration is extremely well centered with no surface flaws evident on either side. The four razor sharp corner tips could draw blood, and the reverse side typography is absolutely pristine. Its overall world-class aesthetics would make one would think this card was just pulled from a Topps bubblegum pack, justifying why any advanced enthusiast should jump at the opportunity to add this gem pinnacle graded gem to their illustrious PSA Registered 1958 Topps gathering!
