Wabash George” was a highly prized prospect when he entered baseball in 1901, causing a battle between the A.L. Tigers and the N.L. Dodgers for his services. Mullin chose the team closer to his home and became a fixture in the Motor City. A pure fastball pitcher, Mullin led the AL in wins with 29 in 1909. On what he described as the most memorable day of his career, Mullin tossed a no-hitter on his birthday in 1912.
