In today’s world of baseball, Wiltse would the ace of virtually every major league team. A hard-nosed competitor who lived in Christy Mathewson’s enormous shadow, Wiltse posted double figures in wins in his first eight seasons, including a dazzling 13 straight wins as a starter in his rookie campaign. In the legendary pennant race of 1908, Wiltse even chipped in a 10-inning, 1-0 no-hitter on the 4th of July. Wiltse’s Uzit reverse card is among the rarest of relics in this auction, in terms of scarce back offerings. We highly recommend getting early on the bidding for this card.
