Agganis was a New England legend, starring in baseball and football in high school, before attending Boston University, where he gained All American honors as a quarterback. After a lone season in the minors, Agganis made a splashy debut in 1954, leading AL first basemen in assists and hitting 11 home runs in 454 at-bats. Tragically, Agganis died of leukemia in 1955, setting back the Red Sox for several seasons. One of only 8 examples to grade a PSA 8 with no examples higher, this card is an outstanding find, featuring vivid colors and icy white borders.
POP REPORT: Highest graded example. 1 of 8 PSA 8’s.
