Chance was an old school, tough guy leader who truly led by example, skippering the Cubs to pennants in 1906, 1907, 1908 and 1910. At his best in the World Series, Chance hit a solid .310 in twenty post season games. In the 1908 Fall Classic, he dominated the Tigers, hitting a bruising .421.
