Parisian Bob was an outstanding pitcher, outfielder and hitter, twice posting 40 win seasons and hitting a career best .357 in 1887. Even more remarkable, when most men toiled for pennies, Caruthers earned as much as $5,000 a year in the 1880’s. Remarkable card of an early superstar.
